 October 24th is World Polio Day. The world is 99% free of the dreaded disease that has crippled and/or killed children for centuries. Polio only affects children and has been eradicated from North America for decades. However, it continues to plague parts of Africa, Asia and the Middle East. |

Our club donated over 1000 books today to assist The Rotary Club of Lindsay with donations of books for The Elliott Lake Library after the library was devastated in the recent collapse of their mall. Many thanks to Jack Calvert and the other members in this photo. The Rotary Club of Lindsay picked the books this morning by truck.

We are pleased to announce the END POLIO NOW - Car Magnet Program in response to the challenge issued by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation . The Gates Foundation has committed $100 million toward polio eradication with a challenge to all Rotary clubs to collectively match that gift. |
